Rowfant Mill Pond

Originally a forge was built at Rowfant 1556 to 1653 and this used the 7acre pond. It was then converted to a mill for grinding corn, the mill ceased working in early 1930’s. As you can see Rowfant Mill Pond has a rich history.

The largest of our waters at around 7 acres in size. It’s long and narrow, with tree-fringed banks, and vast beds of lilies. It is a typical Sussex millpond with lots of silt, and depths of 4 to 6 feet. It has a mixed stock containing the usual species: Bream, Carp, Perch, Pike, and Tench.  If you know where to look Carp over 20lbs can be regularly caught.  If Carp are your passion your new best friend will be committee member John Fox (Bailiff at the Mill), he will advise you as to how to fish it.  Fishmeal boilies are the most productive method.

We boast secure parking with live CCTV MONITORED by our committee members.

Night fishing is allowed on this lake, maximum of 24 hours in one session.
